What is biochemistry?

Biochemistry is a field of scientific study, chemistry may be divided into various subgroups. One major subgroup is organic chemistry, a field that refers to the study of carbon-based compounds, including carbohydrates and hydrocarbons such as methane and butane. When this discipline further focuses on the study of the organic molecules that are important to living organisms, it is known as biochemistry.
