Applications are invited for the Direct Recruitment of meritorious sports persons from open market under SPORTS QUOTA for filling the vacancies of the following posts in Assam Postal Circle.

The recruitment process will be based on the guidelines issued by the Department of Persannel & Training, Government of lndia OM No.14034101/201 3-Est. (D) doted 03.10.2013; 0l .09.2020 and 29.01.2021 .
Salary:
1.Postal Assistant / Sorting Assistant: Rs.25,500- to Rs.8l,l0O- in Level-4 as per Pay Matrix specified in Port-A of Schedule of Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2016 plus admissible allowances.
2.postman: Rs.21,700- to Rs.69,lO0- in Level-3 as per Pay Matrix specified in Port-A of Schedule of Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2016 plus admissible allowances.
3.Multi tasking staff : Rs..l8,000- to Rs.56,900- in Level-l as per Pay Matrix specified in Port-A of Schedule of Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2015 plus admissible allowances.
Educational and other Qualifications:
i) Post ASSTSTANT AND SORTTNG ASSISTANT :
a) The candidate must have passed l2th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized university or Board of School Education or Board of Secondary Education.
b) The candidate of higher qualifications will also be considered but they have to fulfil the above conditions. There will be no preference for higher educational qualifications.
c) The candidate will be required to furnish certificate of Basic Computer Training from a recognized Computer Training institute before issuance of appointment letter. Computer Training Certificates from Central Government / State Government University / Board etc. will also be acceptable for the purpose.
This requirement of Basic Computer Knowledge Certificate is relax able in cases where a candidate has studied computer subject in Matriculation or Class Xll or Higher educational qualification and in such cases o certificate will not be insisted upon.
ii) Postman
a) The candidate must have passed l2th standard or equivalent examination from o recognized university or Board of School Education or Board of Secondary Education.
b) Knowledge of LOCAL LANGUAGE i.e. Assamese/Bengoli/Bodo. The candidate should have studied local language as subject at least up to lO th standard.
c) The person appointed to the post of Postman shall acquire a driving license to drive two wheeler or three wheeler or Light Motor Vehicle within a period of two years from the date of his appointment. However, the person with disability shall be exempted from the requirement of driving license.
d) The candidate not having valid driving license of the time of appointment shall not earn periodical increment in pay till production of such license or for a period of five years from the date of appointment whichever is earlier and after production of such license or expiry of such five years period, pay shall be restored prospectively to the level pay would have reached as if periodical increment in pay was not withheld and no arrears shall be paid for the intervening period.
e) The candidates of higher qualifications will also be considered but they have to fulfil the above conditions. There will be no preference for higher educational qualifications.
f) The candidate will be required to furnish certificate of Basic Computer Training from a recognized Computer Training lnstitute before issuance of appointment letter. METHOD OF SELECTION:
Selection of the candidates will be mode on educational and Sports qualification subject to fulfilment of prescribed conditions.
Meritorious Sports Candidates will be selected for appointment based on the instructions in the Deportment of Personnel &Training OM No. I40l 511/76-
Estt.(D) dated 04.08.,l980 as amended from time to time and consolidated instructions issued by DOPT OM No. 14034101/2013-Estt.(D) doted 03.10.2013 and Postal Directorate, Deportment of Posts, New Delhi letter No. l7-0712012-SPN-l(Pt.)
dated 06.01.2021.The order of preference is as under:
(i) First Preference: Candidates who hove represented the country in on INTERNATIONAL competition with the clearance of the Deportment of Youth Affairs and (ii) Second Preference:
Sports.
Candidates who have represented a State / Union Territory in the Senior or Junior Level National Championship Organized by the Notional Sports Federations recognized by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports or Notional Games organized by the lndian Olympic Association and hove won medals or position up to third place. Between the candidates participating in Senior and Junior National Championships/ Games. the candidates having participated and won the medal in Senior National championship gets preference.
(iii) Third Preference: Candidates who hove represented o University in on
lnter-University competition conducted by Association of lndian Universities
/ lnter-University Sports Board and hove won medals or positions up to third
place in finals.
(iv) Fourth Preference: Candidates who hove represented the State Schools in
the National Sports / Gomes for Schools conducted by the All lndian School
Gomes Federation and hove won medals or positions up to third place.
(v) Fifth Preference: Candidates who hove been on warded National Award in
physical efficiency under National Physical Efficiency Drive.
(vi) Sixth Preference: Candidates who hove represented o State / Union
Territory / University / State School Teams of the Levels (ii) to (iv) above but
could not win o medal or position in the some order of preference.
