What is Embryogenesis?

Embryogenesis is the process by which a fertilized egg (zygote) develops into a complex organism through a series of coordinated and tightly regulated cell division, differentiation, and morphogenesis events. It involves the formation of the three primary germ layers (ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm), which give rise to all the tissues and organs of the body, and the establishment of the basic body plan of the embryo. Embryogenesis occurs in all sexually reproducing organisms, including humans, and is critical for the proper development and function of the organism.
